Athletics Wellington, in partnership with our local clubs, is running the Brendan Foot Supersite Kids Cross Country Series again over the winter months in 2017. We have races for year 0 (ages 4 & under as at 1 April 2017) to year 8 students. There are 5 races in the series and you can enter as little or as many as you like. Plus enter and compete in all five events and receive a competitors medal AND a Shoe Clinic and New Balance Thermo Water Bottle at the last event! Enter at least one week prior to the event date and receive a personalised race bib on the day. Come and join in with the 500 plus kids who take part.
Event 1: Sunday 14 May - Trentham Memorial Park, Upper Hutt (hosted by Upper Hutt Athletics)
Event 2: Sunday 28 May - Karori Park, Karori (hosted by Karori Athletics Club)
Event 3: Sunday 25 June - From WHAC Clubrooms, Mt Victoria, Wellington (hosted by WHAC)
Event 4: Sunday 9 July - Grenada North Park, Tawa (hosted by Olympic Harriers)
Event 5: Sunday 13 August - Petone Memorial/Sladden Park, Petone (hosted by Hutt Valley Harriers)

Approximate Timings and Distances
9:30am - On the day registrations and race bibs available to collect
Enter at least 7 days prior for a personalised race bib
10:00am - Guided walk around course (not compulsory - only if you want to)
10.20am - Year 0 Boys and Girls Race (approx 500m)
10:30am - Year 1 Boys and Girls Race (approx 800m)
10:45am - Year 2 Boys and Girls Race (approx 800m)
11:00am - Year 3 Boys and Girls Race (approx 1km to 1.5km)
11:15am - Year 4 Boys and Girls Race (approx 1km to 1.5km)
11:30am - Year 5 Boys and Girls Race (approx 2km to 2.5km)
11:45am - Year 6 Boys and Girls Race (approx 2km to 2.5km)
12:00pm - Year 7 - 8 Boys and Girls Race (approx 2km to 2.5km)
Please note: times can change on the day with races able to run up to 30 minutes earlier than advertised (only in adverse weather conditions if we need to rush it through and only affecting races from year 3 upwards).
Note: Year 0 is for those aged 4 & under as at 1 April 2017 (it is your choice if you want them to run up a grade in year 1, i.e. if they'd prefer to run with their friends who might be year 1)
You can enter on the day, but if you pre enter at least seven days before each event you will receive your own personalised race bib on the day. Online entries close midday prior to the event.
Enter one event, or all five! If you enter and compete in all five events you receive a Shoe Clinic and New Balance Thermo Water Bottle PLUS a Competitors Medal at the last event.
It's a great way to keep fit over the winter months, so come along have some fun.

Medals and Awards
Medals for top 3 individuals in each race for each year group.
Certificates for top 3 teams in each race for the first four events.
(children can run up a grade if they want to make up a team with older age groups, i.e. a year 2 can run in the year 3 race and be part of a year 3 team)
Please note: the team awards will be presented at the following event as we will organise personalised certificates following the event they competed in.
Medals for overall series top 3 individuals and teams (based on 3 best placings over the first 4 events). These will be awarded at the final event.
Competitors Medals and Shoe Clinic and New Balance Thermo Water Bottle
If you enter and compete in all five events you receive a Shoe Clinic and New Balance Thermo Water Battle bag PLUS a Competitors Medal at the last event.
SPECIAL DISCOUNT FOR ATHLETICS AND HARRIER CLUB MEMBER
Enter all five events and you'll pay $30 instead of $40. As soon as you click on 'Enter Here' on the All Five Events entry link you just choose the Registered Runners section to receive yor discount. You must be a current 2017 Athletics Wellington affiliated athletic or harrier club member to receive this discount (2016/17 athletic club member or 2017 harrier club member).
How do we enter a Team?
If you want to get a group of friends together you can form a team of 3 or 4. Individual placings count towards team points.
Each team member must enter as an individual. Then head to our Teams Online Entry link where you enter your team name, year level and team members.
You all run as individuals in the race but we count up the placings of the first three at each race you're entered into. It means if you have four team members but someone is away or sick your team still counts. All four team members receive a certificate at the next event if they place in the team finishes 1st, 2nd or 3rd (or we post them out to you).
